Sev Lake (Black Lake) is located on the border of the Artsakh Republic, Syunik region of Armenia. It is a natural water basin on the south-eastern slope of Mets Ishkhanasar (3550 m) mountain, at an altitude of 2657 meters. Lake Sev is located in the reserve of the same name, it is a specially protected area of nature. The surface is about 2 km,, the length is 1.6 km, the width is 1.2 km, it is a stagnant freshwater lake, the maximum depth is about 7.5 m, the volume of water is more than 9 million m ³. The water is cold, trout are bred here and the water is used for irrigation.

Mets Ishkhanasar Mountain (Big Ishkhanasar) – the summit of the Syunik Highlands. This is the highest peak of the Ishkhanasar Mountains massif, the height is 3550 meters. Mets Ishkhanasar is located on the border of the Syunik Province and the Republic of Artsakh. To the north of Mets Ishkhanasar is Pokr Ishkhanasar (Little Ishkhanasar). At the top there is a volcanic crater, and on the eastern slope there is a lake of Sev (Black) of glacial origin.
