Kasakh River is located in the Aragatsotn and Armavir region of Armenia. The length is 89 km, the basin area is 1480 km 2 . The sources of Kasakh are three rivers, of which the left anchor Karagbyur originates from the southern slopes of the Pambak mountains, flowing through the former Akhuryan region. Two other right-handers, Daskend and Tsakhkahovit, come from the northern slopes of Aragats, flow through the Aragats region, mainly flow through meadows and cross the right central creek in the vicinity of the village of Ria Taza.
Kasakh River
Upstream, there is a slow and low water level in the upper reaches, and in the middle reaches it becomes quite watery and fast. The upper course of the river bed was dry for 8 months. It has a steady stream from Aparan, where it flows into several streams flowing from sources. It flows southeast and south of the Aparan reservoir, east of the village of Apnagyuh in the south and, taking the right tributary of the Gegharot, enters the Kasah gorge. The most watery and steepest is the middle stream of Kasakh, especially near Ashtarak and Oshakan, where the river valley is a deep valley up to 200 m high. Below the village of Oshakan, Kasakh enters the Ararat valley and joins the Amberd tributary on the right, splitting into several rivers at the mouth of the river and connecting with Sevure on the left.
In the lower reaches of the Ararat Valley, the waters of Kasagh are almost completely used for irrigating the fields and gardens of the surrounding villages. That is why during the summer months (during the strongest evaporation of water) Kasagh is dry land.
