Gegharot River

Hydrography

Gegharot river is located in Aragatsotn region of Armenia, is the right tributary of Kasakh river. It starts from the eastern slope of Aragats, at an altitude of 3600 m, 1 km south-east of Apnagyugh it joins the main river. The length is 25 km, the catchment area is 66 km. The river valley is V-shaped i gorge, widening in the lower stream. Feeding is mainly thawing (69%), flooding in May-June. The average annual consumption is 0.94 m³ / s. It freezes in winter. There are mines and water outlets in the river valley. Water is used for irrigation.
