Yeritsavank is located in the Syunik Region of Armenia, east of the village of Artsvanik, on a high plateau. According to XIII-XIV centuries. historian Stepanos Orbelyan, the monastery was founded by Syunyat Metropolitan Yeritsak in the 5th century. It consists of a church, vestibule, belfry, chapel, which are now half-ruined. S. of the monastery Stepanos Nakhavka Church is a one-nave, vaulted hall with three open arches on the northern and southern facades. It is 20 m long and 7 m wide. Built with semi-finished basalt stones. Later, for defensive purposes, the monastery was surrounded by double walls, of which only a part of the eastern wall has been preserved. The ruins of the chapel are located on the north side of the complex. On the northwestern side of the monastery there is a complex of caves, in one of which, according to tradition, Father Yeritsak lived as a hermit.
