Vorotnaberd Fortress or David Bek Fortress is an Armenian fortress in the Tskguk province of the Syunik region of historical Great Armenia, currently near the village of Vorotnavan of the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia, on the ridge on the right bank of the Vorotan River. The fortress occupied an important place in the medieval fortifications of Syunik, and its role was significant in the XVIII century. Syunik in the national liberation struggle. this famous and impregnable castle, which occupied 11.5 hectares.

V. D. the historian Egishe Vorotnaberd mentioned in 450. According to Stepanos Orbelian, Vorotnaberd was one of the famous fortresses of Syunik and in 1084-1094, repeatedly submitting to the raids of the Seljuk Turks, remained under their rule for 115 years and only in 1211, through the efforts of Prince Smbat, Vorotnaberd was liberated and became the possession of the Orbelans, who, however, in 1407. the fortress was destroyed in 1487. Vorotnaberd is mentioned again in the context of the Syunik liberation movement when it was destroyed in 1725. David Bek, with his small army, but skillful tactics, managed to besiege and liberate Vorotnaberd. it is no longer referred to as Kangun Fortress:

Vorotnaberd has a Northwest - in the south-eastern part, at an altitude of about 50 m from the general territory, there is a citadel, in the eastern part of which the remains of a semicircular watchtower and a chapel have been preserved. currently closed and barely visible: On the territory of both the citadel and the fortress, the walls of small rectangular or round dwellings built of basalt rift stones, without mortar, have been preserved.
