Shamb reservoir in the Syunik region of Armenia, on the Vorotan River, near the village of Shamb, at an altitude of about 1350 m. Launched in 1970. It receives the water coming out of the Shamb watershed and the stream of the Vorotan River, which regulates the outflows of the Tatev watershed, and part of the accumulated water is used for irrigation. The area is 1.26 km2, the water supply is 13.6 million m3 and the utility is 11.8 million m3. The dam is rocky with a sandy core, its length is 107 m, its maximum height is 47 m. The water is discharged through a tower water intake (outlet 25 m3 / s) built on the left bank and a non-pressure tunnel. Disaster waters are discharged through a Margaritka-type drainage drain (216 m3 / s) and 6 tunnel holes (100 m3 / s). Trout, trout and other fish species are reared in the lake.
