Selim Caravanserai or Orbelians Caravanserai is located on the Yeghegnadzor-Martuni highway in the Vardenyats pass, at an altitude of 2410 meters above sea level. In medieval times, most of the buildings were built on commercial roads, which was more convenient for travelers.

Selim Caravanserai welcomed travelers along the highway and through Selim or the Vardenyats Pass. The latter is the best preserved of all medieval mountain passes in Armenia.

Vardenyats Pass - Orbelian's Caravanserai

Caravanserai is a 14th century, located on the Vardenis Pass, served as a hostel for many merchants crossing the Great Silk Road through Armenia, among other buildings. It is known that Marco Polo traveled around the area and told how the Armenians lived in impassable mountains.
