Selim Caravanserai
Selim Caravanserai welcomed travelers along the highway and through Selim or the Vardenyats Pass. The latter is the best preserved of all medieval mountain passes in Armenia.
Caravanserai is a 14th century, located on the Vardenis Pass, served as a hostel for many merchants crossing the Great Silk Road through Armenia, among other buildings. It is known that Marco Polo traveled around the area and told how the Armenians lived in impassable mountains.
