The church of Surb Astsvatsatsin is a small building with a cruciform shape, three naves, outwardly rectangular cross wings, a central dome, which was completely renovated in 1980. The transition from the domed square to the base of the cylindrical (outside octagonal) drum is made with sails. The only entrance is from the west, which is designed with a pair of semi-columns typical of the 7th century. The walls lined with sacred black tuff bear the marks of the master builders.
