The Mayravank Monument of Medieval Armenian Architecture is located in front of Solak village, on a high place. The original building was founded by Hovhan Mayravanetsi (Mayragometsi) in the 7th century. Then S. of Mayravank Astvatsatsin Church was built in the XI-XII centuries, with a sacred basalt. It has a domed hall, with two-storey deposits with rectangular plans on both sides of the tabernacle. Inside the church, on the west wall, there is a 1224 protocol: The eastern façade is designed with triangular and double niches. The only western entrance has a double arched entrance decorated with half-columns.
Mayravank
Ezr I, the Catholicos of Parazhnakert, called the monastery "Mayragom" and Hovhannes "Mayragometsi" in order to insult Hovhan Mayravanetsi, who opposed him unanimously. After the Council of Chalcedon in 451, the Christian Church was divided, and the influence of the Byzantine Church on the Armenian Church weakened. The idea of unity was created by the Byzantine emperors, whose main goal was to create a bridge between the divided churches and to restore the lost influence. In 633, during the Council of Carinthia, Catholicos Ezr was forced to accept the idea of Unity. But unanimity has not taken root in Armenia and is considered Chalcedonian. Only Hovhan Mayravanetsi, one of the Armenian theologians of the time, spoke openly against the Catholicos.
