
Kilimanjaro Mountain is a volcano in northeastern Tanzania, the highest point in Africa. From 1902 to 1918, it was called the Kaiser Wilhelm Peak. Height 5895 m . It consists of 3 volcanic cones: Kibo (5895 m), Mawenzi (5355 m) and Shira (4006 m). On the peaks there are glaciers, glacial landforms. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct volcanoes, while Kibo sleeps and can erupt again. Uhuru Peak is the highest point of the Kibo crater circle. Tanzania National Park Authority, a special agency of the Government of this African country and an educational agency of the United Nations, The scientific and cultural organization UNESCO celebrates the 5895 meters high summit of Uhuru. This figure is based on data confirmed by the British Ordnance Survey in 1952. The mountain is included in the World Heritage List.
