Halidzor fortress is located in the Syunik region of Armenia, it was built in the 17th century as a Kusanats desert. Thus, in the 18th century Due to its inaccessible location, the fortress turned into the main stronghold of the Armenian national liberation struggle. In 1727 The battle of Halidzor between the large Turkish army and Davit Bek's small detachment ended with the defeat of the Turkish army. After that battle, Davit Bek liberated all regions of Great Kapan one after another. Halidzor fortress is walled, the entrance is in the southern wall. A pyramid with a circular plan has been preserved in the southwest corner. There are ruins of more than one round defense tower on the castle grounds. The fortress of Halidzor had a secret passage to the outside, which was used for a surprise attack on the enemy in case of siege. Nevertheless, in 1729 the Turkish army besieges the fortress of Halidzor, the defense of which was led by the commander Mkhitar. The enemy enters the fortress, massacres those inside, destroys the walls, turning the fortress into ruins.
