Flag of Armenia

Flag of Armenia - is considered one of the state symbols of Armenia. It is defined by the Constitution of Armenia and the law on the flag. It is composed of red, blue, orange colors (from top to bottom) with equal horizontal stripes. It is the same size and color as the flag of the First Republic of Armenia (1918-1920).

The 2006 law states: "The red color symbolizes the Armenian Plateau, the constant struggle of the Armenian people for survival, Christian faith, independence and freedom of Armenia. The blue color symbolizes the will of the Armenian people to live under a peaceful sky. Orange symbolizes the creative talent and hard work of the Armenian people."

Another description of the meaning of colors was given at the beginning of the 20th century. red is the spilled blood of millions of Armenians killed throughout history, including during the Armenian Genocide, blue is the clear, peaceful sky that Armenia aspires to. for, the apricot is the color of the Armenian fertile soil, the symbol of the hard work of the Armenian people, and also the color of the apricot, the symbolic fruit of Armenia.
