Mount Sabalan is located in the northwestern part of Iran, in the province of Ardabil. It is the third highest peak in Iran at 4,811 meters, after Demavend (5,610 meters) and Alam Kuh (4,850 meters). Sabalan is an active volcano, although the last eruption occurred in ancient times. Sabalan is considered one of the natural beauties of Iran and has great tourist importance. There are many hot springs around the mountain, which are known for their healing properties. After the ascent, we will restore our strength in the healing waters.

Day 1

Yerevan - Iran - Shabil

On this day, early in the morning, we will go to the village of Shabil, located on the western slopes of Mount Sabalan. Shabil is one of the main base camps, the starting point for climbing Mount Sabalan. Tourists visit Shabil not only to climb Sabalan, but also to try the village's hot springs and spend time at mountain resorts. After settling in the hotel, we will rest and arrange the necessary things for the ascent.

Day 2

Shabil - Mount Sabalan Base Camp

We will climb Mount Sabalan by the northeast route, which is more common and suitable for beginners and those climbing the mountain for the first time. On this day, we will climb from the village (2500 meters) to the base camp of Mount Sabalan, which is located at an altitude of about 3700 meters. After the climb, we will rest and make an acclimatization climb up to 4,200 meters.

Day 3

Climbing Mount Sabalan

Early in the morning (around 04:00) we will start the climb to the third highest mountain of Iran, Sabalan (4811 meters). On the way, we will meet the dawn full of unique mountain views. And when we reach the top, we will see the miraculous lake formed in the volcanic crater (40-50 meters in diameter). After reaching the top, marking the climb, we will head towards the base camp. We will rest and share the emotions of the climb.

Day 4

Mount Sabalan - Shabil - Tabriz

After collecting our things, we will head from the base camp of the mountain to Shabil, a resort rich in hot mineral waters (45°C to 50°C). To reach Shabil and not see and enjoy the warm waters rich in minerals, even after the ascent, is a big omission. After spending about half a day in Shabil, we will go to the city of Tabriz. Tabriz is considered one of the ancient cities of Iran. It played an important role in different eras as a commercial and cultural center. We will get to know the history of the city, we will visit the souvenir shop and the local market, we will get to know the way of life.

Day 5

Tabriz - Yerevan

After this short and meaningful trip, all we have to do is return to our homeland, share our impressions with friends and prepare for new adventures and tours.

Participants must have sleeping bag, backpack (big and small), mountain climbing boots, warm mountain uniform, jacket, hats (both summer and winter), comfortable hiking gloves, jersey, sunscreen cream, headlamp, hiking poles, thermal underwear, mask, trekking sunglasses, hiking gaiters
