Among the climbs of 2025 is the climbing of Mount Kazbek. With a height of 5054 meters, Kazbek is the second highest peak in Georgia and the seventh in the Caucasus mountain range. It is the highest mountain in Eastern Georgia. The mountain is located on the Georgia-Russia border. In many sources you will see a different height of the mountain: 5033 or 5047 meters. In 2019, though, the height of the peak was re-measured using the latest technology and set at 5054 m, which has been the official height of Mount Kazbek ever since. Mount Kazbek has 5 climbing routes. We have chosen the classic route for the ascent.

As with other 5000+ ascents, adaptation of the body to the local climate and altitude is very important for this ascent. Therefore, on this day we will make a climate training ascent and climb to a height of about 4300 meters, reaching the Kazbek pass. It is on this day that we will learn how to use equipment correctly, safely move on ice and snowy slopes. After the descent, we will rest and prepare for the night ascent.
