Berkri Waterfall it is located 16 km from the north-east of Lake Van, on the right bank of the Berkri River, in the valley. The distance is about 90 km from Van and 40 km from Archez. Historically, it entered the Mets Hayk (Greater Armenia) in the province of Arberan in the Vaspurakan World.

The Berkri River is about 15 meters tall. Located on the Berkri River, which originates from Mount Tondrak, flowing along the mountains of Vaspurakan, crossing 65 km and flowing into Lake Van. During the Genocide, the water of this waterfall was often flooded with Armenian blood.
Berkri Waterfall history and topography
In ancient times it was the domain of the Minister’s Genius, and from the VIII-IX centuries it passed to Artsruni. It is one of the medieval Armenian Writing Centers. In the second half of the 19th and early 20th century, there was an Armenian college in Berkri.
