Bekhi Anapat or Bekh desert is located in the Syunik region of Armenia, 4 km southeast of the city of Kapan, and is one of the valuable monuments of late medieval Syunik architecture. The fragments used in the lining of the walls of the present church testify that there was an older one in the place of the desert, in the 7th century. a monument that was completely destroyed, and the stones were partially used for the construction of a new monument. XVII century. According to the testimony of the historian Arakel Davrizhets, the church was completely rebuilt by Aristakes, the abbot of the Great Desert of Tatev in the 17th century. in the 20s.
